Restaurant Kartoffel

The outdoor seating here is beautiful, located right by the canal. Service was perfectly fine, nothing exceptional but attentive enough. Portions are generous, and prices are quite reasonable. The menu focuses on German food and beer. We started with a sharing platter of cheese and ham. Unfortunately, that was a bit disappointing; there was too much bread and not enough variety in the other items. Overall, though, it’s a good spot for a casual meal, especially if you enjoy hearty German dishes in a lovely waterside setting.

The schnitzel and sausages were both delicious, a d the price was so much better than in Amsterdam. We chose a table inside, which had excellent decor/atmosphere. The outside tables were directly on the canal which would have been beaut6also, but as always in the Netherlands there was smoking outside so opted to eat inside.

Great location by the canal! Has a nice atmosphere and very friendly service. Generous pours, though the house wine needs to be improved, was very challenging finishing the wine, that said they have other options on the menu by the bottle.

We went here in a group and were presented with a group menu. The options were limited but the food and presentation was nice. The 0% beer was ok and the vegetarian wurst plate was a bit bland. Service was great and ambience was quite pleasant.

It's a good option for eating in Utrecht, when the food is clearly German, with a decent beer selection and a good ambience not only outside but also inside. The negative point could be the slow service bringing the food due to the kitchen. Besides that, the waiter's service is really nice. We were attended for a Mexican girl which makes us very comfortable and always pending on our table.
