We went to The Markt in Utrecht for my sister-in-law’s bachelorette party, and it couldn’t have been a better choice! The team put together a special menu for us with lots of dishes to try, and they were so friendly and flexible in helping us choose. The atmosphere and energy of the place were wonderful, and the location in the heart of Utrecht makes it super easy to reach. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside — definitely worth a visit even just for the setting. If you’re lucky with your table, you’ll also have a gorgeous view of the garden. Great food, warm service, and a perfect spot for a special evening!
The most notable part of this restaurant is its great atmosphere. Other than that the food was fine but nothing special (except some overcooked spaghetti) and personnel was mostly fine. For the price its not worth it, however, if its a good atmosphere you are looking for, I guess its fine to come here.
Super nice service and location! But: The mixed starter platter is good but some bread would have been nice, though it was really huge. Mains: Weird pizzas (mortadella, pistachios and tangerine?!?), and the Chicken dish unfortunately was quite bad: the chicken’s skin was not roasted properly and the potatoes were not cooked long enough. The dish is very dry overall. But I guess I‘d give it a second try one day.
Delicious tuna tataki salad.. so fresh! Very high quality and big size. Really recommended! 🤩 Nice service too. Very atmospheric sitting on this pedestrian street and great for people watching. 👀 👍🏻
Came here for lunch with a large group of people. We were seated in the separate room inside. The plating of the starting platter was enticing. However, it looked much better than it tasted. It was more of quantity over quality. Not a complete lost cause but with better seasoning and balance of flavours I think it could be a real winner. Pizza was awful, in terms of flavour and texture. The dough was bland and dry. The pesto risotto (which in my opinion was more spinach) was OK, nothing grand. I did however really enjoy their goats cheese salad, that is something I would happily order for lunch again. The desserts were one of the better dishes, the tiramisu and cheesecake were good. Service was so-so. Waiters were pleasant enough. Not sure I would return again unless it’s for convenience of the location.
