Big portions & good service. I had the fish of the day, salmon, which was fine but a bit dry/overcooked for my taste. My partner had the meatballs which were good. Overall it was pretty alright but nothing special. Also very hot inside.
Very nice restaurant serving Norwegian-Turkish-Italian food. I had the mixed grill featuring steak, chicken and kofte, my wife had the fettuccine carbonara - both excellent. Had a nice selection of draft beer.
By far our best meal in Oslo. Tucked away in a neighborhood walking distance from our hotel, our server helped us navigate the menu. So delicious. Wonderful atmosphere.
Exceptional food and service. Would highly recommend as portions are large and affordable which is not easy to find in Oslo. The meat is excellent
Ok, WOW! My new favorite restaurant to visit whenever I will trip my way to Oslo! Why? The reasons are many: + Amazing and A LOT of food for some very affordable prices in the middle of Oslo is definitely a rarity! At least when it comes to this kind of food selection. But, it's their very unique and special offer of 50% discount on all main courses on sundays and mondays that is truly something! Normal price on most main dishes sits at around 300 NOK. + See my attached photos to see the BIG portions we got for the salmon and the pasta! PS: The pasta I had, was hot and super creamy! Props to the chef for that one. I see some souls commented that the salmon tasted dry, but that wasn't the case for us, as it tasted like a salmon should. Besides, you can always tell them how you'd want your salmon when you make your order. + Go here if you want to eat salmon and some other norwegian dishes without emptying your wallet! + No excessive waiting time. It didn't take long until we got our food, really. Another nice surprise about this place. + Closes late: 10pm on most days and 11pm on thu-sat. The great thing about that is that you can do some nice exploring in Oslo and then go here to top off the evening with a nice meal, even if it's late. Most restaurants that offers this sort of food selection close rather early. + Very welcoming, cozy and super chill atmosphere, with pleasant service and staff members to strike a conversation with. In our case, Emina was our waitress, and her wholesome, fun and welcoming personality, along with her fine smile, made us feel very welcome there, all while being professional and helpful with whatever we wondered about. Even the owner was a pleasant man to chat with, as he happened to be there when we were there. Their slogan really matches my views of the place: "Your second home." Yep, I actually did feel like home there. + The restaurant has this wonderful intimate feel to the whole place, without you getting the feeling of being suffocated by the amount of people there since it's not a big restaurant. Pleasant temperature and clean too. Plus also for the chill lighting and the atmospheric candles they added when it became darker. + Nicely located restaurant that is easy to find, as it is close to the OsloMet university and other nice worth-the-visit locations nearby. No excessive noises/traffic that'll disturb the experience and atmosphere either, which makes it easy for you to talk to the people you are with. + Outdoor dining possible, though we preferred being indoor since it was evening time. + 100 NOK for water?! Nope, not here, as it's free, because it's Norway. One of the nice perks we have here. + Props for not serving soda! At least it wasn't present on the drinks menu... Bonus: If you are into opera, every thursday, they have some opera artist(s) performing there after 8pm. Negative things: None! Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway: We were looking for a restaurant that offered something "norwegian" among other and more "international" alternatives, a place that was affordable, did not serve junk food, still open after a long day of exploring and simply a place that was chill and not that far away, and wow, this place delivered to the max! I highly recommend this place if you want to get some good food, with rather big portions, for a price that's among the cheapest you'll find in Oslo that doesn't serve kebab etc., especially on sundays and mondays. But yeah, it's exactly that genius addition of "super sunday and monday" with 50% off on all main courses that is really something. 300 NOK dishes turn into 150 NOK dishes, which is something you will struggle to find elsewhere in Oslo without going too far outside of Oslo. That's why this restaurant will be my dining place whenever I will visit Oslo, easily. Sidenote: I have no affiliation or such with this place. I just like to go detailed on my reviews when the experience is utmost positive, which Pilestredet Parkservering definitely was.
