Brasserie Chérie offers a delightful dining experience in the heart of Oslo. The atmosphere is charming and welcoming, with a perfect blend of elegance and casual comfort. The menu features a well-curated selection of classic French dishes, all prepared with high-quality ingredients and great attention to detail. The service is professional, friendly, and attentive, making you feel genuinely cared for throughout your meal. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a special dinner, Brasserie Chérie delivers both taste and ambiance at a high standard. Highly recommended for anyone seeking great food in a relaxed, stylish setting.

We had a great breakfast here. The restaurant is part of a beautiful 4 star hotel. Seems like breakfast is included if you’re staying here, but we were not so the cost for us was 330kr per person. Essentially you can order anything from the menu for one price. We had coffee, juice, yogurt with granola, overnight oats, two omelettes and a croissant sandwich. Everything was excellent. The omelettes were nicely cooked and the smoked trout was delicious. Lovely spot for a nice sit down breakfast.

After getting off the cruise ship, we took a relaxed walk through Bergen towards the Fløibanen. On the way, we stumbled across this restaurant and it immediately stood out. Elegant facade, warm lighting, and something about it just said: this place has character. Later that afternoon we came back for coffee and cake and we were not disappointed. The interior is stunning: vintage wallpaper, playful art, antique books and little porcelain figures placed with care. It’s like stepping into a very stylish grandmother’s reading room if she had a thing for Parisian brasserie flair and bold design choices. In the best way. The cappuccino was top - strong, creamy, just how it should be. I had a brownie that was perfectly done: crisp edges, soft and rich in the middle. Small portion, big flavor. The staff were super friendly and welcoming without being over the top. We felt at home from the moment we stepped in. This time, we only had time for coffee. Next time I’ll definitely stay for dinner. No way I’m missing that again.

We had a fantastic dinner here on our first night in Bergen. The scallop and tarte were a great way to start the meal along with the bread a butter they serve. Both main dishes were excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly and was served over truffled mashed potatoes with a bordelaise sauce. The truffled mashed potatoes weren’t too “truffley” which was nice, sometimes truffle can over power a dish. The sauce was very flavorful as well. I had the halibut which I loved. It was a large piece of fish and the sauce was very flavorful as well. The sommelier helped us both pick out a glass of wine that would go with each of our mains. We asked him for some other restaurant recommendations in Bergen and he gave us a few places which we went to and loved. Overall a great experience.

The service and the atmosphere are exceptional. It is a true pleasure to spend time here and you will feel like a French prince or princess. The food had a high standard, was perfectly prepared and well balanced. However, for prices per dish higher than in a Michelin Star Restaurant in Oslo or a good restaurant in Paris, and the rather small portion sizes, I personally do expect richer and more creative flavours. I would definitely come back here, and it is perfect place for a romantic date.
