BARBADIMOS (PIRAEUS)

Wonderful pastisio. Very friendly service. A lovely retro-style restaurant close to the beach and marina. They give you water and appetizers to show their hospitality, but then you have to pay for all of this. Sheer cunning.

Good kebab. Although the girl who served us was so lovely, the other waiter forgot my serving... When I complained politely, he told us that it's on the way. My serving came when all the other persons of our company had finished their food! So, I was eating alone! The girl was so polite and expressed her apologies, even that it wasn't her fault.

We went there for a quick dinner as well (2 people) Ordered: Kokoretsi, green salad w/pomegranate and red wine. Paid: 26.7€ (water&bread charge was 3.7€) Service: Friendly yet serious young staffs Atmosphere: A historic and authentic inside. Outside is a tad too noisy for my taste. We will come again especially for kokoretsi!

Had a quick lunch at this place before leaving Athens for Naxos. I have to say that it’s above my expectation! Kebab is very very juicy and tasty. Salad is fresh and delicious. The owner is a very nice and funny person. A lot of locals come to the place and I’m a guy who enjoys to explore local restaurants when traveling. If you fancy to at least experience a super local vibe restaurant before leaving Athens, this is a good choice for you as it’s pretty close to the ferry port and you could have a nice meal here and then head to the port for your next destination. At least I will come back next time I’m in Athens for sure.值得一试！

Late at night we came upon a well lit restaurant called Barbadimos or ΜΠΑΡΜΠΑΔΗΜΟΣ.  We were greeted by a larger-than-life, very Greek and effusive fellow named Lazarus, who made sure we would try the best of Greek cuisine. We started with wine from Kalamata. The plates came quickly and were ample. The kabob meats were tender and delicious, came with pita, potatoes and salad, and the four of us were soon stuffed by a platter for two! (€28!) Lazarus made us have dessert, which was very good and also ample, and brought us Ouzo, with cards reminding us to give him personally a like on TripAdvisor. He seemed to genuinely appreciate our warm thanks. We staggered back to our BnB at 1 am and crashed. This place was everything we could have wanted for our first night in Greece! Highly recommend, and say hello to Lazarus!
