Czarna Kaczka / Black Duck

Fantsastic Polish food - recommend to book in advance. Atmosphere is fantastic, service is the best in the city. Food is solid with many of the traditional dishes expected. I had the rye soup and goulash. Cheesecake desert. Potato vodka is great too.

This restaurant made my visit to Poland so much more special. The service is excellent, the food is amazing, and the place itself is really beautiful, with plants that make it especially cozy. The photos are from two different visits. The price is around €25 (about 107 PLN) per person.

The best restaurant in Krakow, no competition! The service is excellent, the atmosphere in the garden is relaxing and secluded away from the bustle of the crowds. But best of all is the food. It is high quality traditional Polish cuisine and every bite is delicious. The duck with wine sauce is a masterpiece and we are very tempted to visit again and again!

Lovely restaurant, we actually visited twice while we were in Poland, the first night was my dad’s birthday and we sat inside which was lovely, the 2nd we sat outdoors also nice but a little chilly. I must say all the food was lovely, especially the goulash and crispy potato pancakes. We also dried crispy peroggis, smoked cheese, a stew type dish and the whole duck.

First of all, the restaurant has a great location in the old town, and the garden (in which you can eat) is adorable, perfect for lunch during a sunny day (or diner when it’s still hot). The inside is also really well decorated and very pretty ! Plus the restrooms are clean and very cute (they have little ducks painted on the walls). But most importantly, the food is stunning. You can guess by the restaurant’s name that they specialize in duck, and we were not disappointed! The duck skin is crispy but the meat is really tender, it’s perfectly cooked and not even a bit dry. The duck burger was also really good, and the fries that came with it were excellent to say the least. Even though the restaurant’s specialty is duck, they have many other polish dishes available! The one we tried was amazing as well, tender chicken, delicious potato dumplings. The sauces that came with the plates were also great! The food quantity is perfect, satisfying your hunger without your stomach hurting afterwards. Also, I think all the ingredients are fresh and high quality :) I highly recommend !!
