Palácio Chiado

Its a fancy place, service is great and the architecture is pretty amazing too. Food is good but nothing special in my opinion. It’s pretty expensive and you are encouraged to tip. Its worth trying.

What went well : the building and set up are beautiful, our table, our main dishes (octopus, prawn). What was disappointing : the service was way too pushy (we finished our starter, and right away we were served our main. Also waiters were serving us wine from our bottle every five minutes in order to finish it so we will purchase some more), the dessert was not meeting expectations (Nata pastei). The general sentiment is that we are just a wallet, that the restaurant relies only on the extraordinary and beautiful building, and its fame, and forgets its purpose (restaurant).

WOW WOW WOW! Unbelievable! Absolutely stunning building and a really special dinner experience! The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the atmosphere and surroundings were beautiful! Fabulous experience, fabulous night would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back! It’s just breathtaking!

The beauty and heritage charm of this restaurant makes it really special. You feel an air of sophistication, a sense of wonder at the beautiful art and architecture. So for that feeling alone, I do recommend this place. Not to mention the food is really delicious too. Maybe a slight bit overpriced. Still worth the experience. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of is the hostess’ attitude with limiting our table to a certain time , even though the restaurant was not completely full.

Besides the ambiance, food, and service, the entire experience is simply exceptional. From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in a sense of happiness that lingers throughout your visit. The restaurant’s decor is a masterpiece of artistic design, with every element seeming to be a piece of a museum.
