Incredible and absolutely delicious vegan food! I never thought I’d get the chance to enjoy traditional Portuguese dishes again, and this place went far beyond my expectations. The vegan Francesinha was an easy 12/10! I also tried the croquettes as a starter, and they were just as amazing.
By far the best cheese I’ve ever had (vegan or not)…. I started with the “cheese board” which also had fresh warm bread and some almonds and berries. “Amazing” is the only way to describe it! I have a broken foot and am in a walking boot. I walked miles and up a flight of stairs to get to this place and it was worth every single step! Everything was delicious and everyone around me also said that it was the best meal ever! This place is incredible and the ambiance is very nice as well. Don’t miss it!
Dined here because of the reviews, and this was one of those times the hype didn’t come close to matching the experience. Party of 5 with 3 vegetarians and two non vegetarians and the consensus was a below average experience across the board. The scallop appetizer was tasteless and a waste of 13 euro. Three orders of the sandwich and none were enjoyed, all served on a piece of what seemed like bland white bread and smothered with tasteless cheese. And two orders of the bbq ribs which were not enjoyed at all. It took 2 hours to complete the dinner because the service was slower than molasses. This was undeniably the slowest service we have had in Portugal. We were asked if we wanted dessert, and we said yes we would like to see the menu… cue in 15+ minutes of waiting and no menu was provided. We did manage to get a check for 130 euro which we eagerly paid so we could leave. And the highlight of the evening was getting pizza after dining at Kong because we were still hungry. We have dined at many vegetarian restaurants in Europe, and this was the worst experience we had.
As a non vegan, I have rated this as a 5 star meal as it is superb. Going to break it down. Starters: Croquettes: really tasty and the mustard sauce it was on was excellent, really nicely presented too 4/5 Cuttlefish: this actually blew my mind, the taste, smell and consistency was so similar to actual cuttlefish it was crazy, with a tasty mayo side dip 5/5 Mains Cod risotto: smelled and tasted like cod. It’s amazing what some restaurants manage to do these days. 4/5 Lamb shank: didn’t taste much like a lamb shank but marking it as a stand alone meal and as a non vegan, this was still a superb dish. Seitan in a mash with a red wine sauce was superb. 5/5 Dessert Snickers: again, absolutely incredible even as a stand alone dish. 5/5 The whole meal is really well presented and could easily be classed as fine dining but for an insanely reasonable price. The seats are comfy with padding, the venue air conditioned and a reasonable temperature the staff pleasant and attentive, service charge not as standard on the bill. Perfect. We may even go back here before we leave as it was so good. Special shout out to a bottle of apple cider for €2.50. Just a superb meal all round
The best vegan restaurant in Lisbon in my opinion! They turned many traditional Portuguese dishes into vegan. Both the presentation and the food itself were wonderful. The vegan fish soup was marvellous. It was so flavourful and layered - my non-vegan friend said it tasted like real fish soup. The restaurant was already quite busy at 7pm. We walked in and managed to get one of the final non reserved tables. Staff were nice and patient even though they were busy and short of manpower (it seemed one staff had an accident so they were short of one waiter). Beautiful environment.
