An interesting find outside the tourist area. Lovely old dining room and very caring staff who want you to have a good time. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. We had intended to eat outside but chose inside as its mainly a bar that has a restaurant and lots of people smoking outside. Good wines at good prices too.
Boy, were WE lucky! Deciding to "go large" on our city break in Porto, we wandered in at around 7 pm to be told, no the restaurant doesn't open till 7:30. So we waited - with a glass of wine, of course. Ascending the stairs at the allotted time, we were shown to the ONE AND ONLY unreserved table in the place ( this is MONDAY night, bear in mind). A delightful dining experience which I won't detail too much- a glorious mushroom risotto for my wife, and I FINALLY got to try baked cod ( after a mere 25 years wait). The building itself is old - a former farmhouse I believe: and a true anachronism in this are of beautifully developed high rise properties. The interior does not disappoint either, and the staff are genuinely proud to work here. The meal, coupled with a charming douro white wine, excellent and accomodating service and a VERY pleasant surprise when the bill came- I would happily have paid twice what we were charged)- left us very satisfied and more than convinced we love Portugal. We visited this restaurant and were absolutely delighted! The food was incredibly tasty — just like a homemade meal: full of flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and a warm, heartfelt touch. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and a true feeling of being welcomed. We’ll definitely be coming back! 🤩🤩🤩
Nice place but it's really annoying that they don't have a printed menu. I find it irritating when they present you with a QR code, usually leading to a confusing website in a language I don't understand. I was planning to have an early lunch at this attractive cafe but the fact they don't even have a simple printout of their food made me change my mind. I don't eat in places that exclusively use QR codes for menus.
Excellent service and authentic Portuguese food, very delicious
