Restaurante Complô

Food was nice and really enjoyed the green based pizza. Would recommend taking it. If you go there I'd recommend sitting upstairs if possible. We were told to sit downstairs which wasn't as cozy upstairs (no candles and it seemed like less effort was put in the interior). A cockroach also flew on the table of the people next to us, which isn't really a nice surprise. Therefore I really recommend sitting upstairs as you're sitting next to the kitchen downstairs.

The portions here are generous, which is worth noting, but the food overall is just above average. Some dishes, like the tuna tartare and pizza, were decent—nothing particularly memorable, but enjoyable enough. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. While the staff made an effort to be friendly, it was clear they were undertrained and struggled with basic service expectations. We had to remind them multiple times about items we had already ordered, which disrupted the flow of the meal. A particularly frustrating moment came when we ordered a steak. The server didn’t ask about the preferred level of doneness, and when we specified medium-rare, it arrived medium-well. After requesting a replacement, it came back rare. It’s a small detail, but one that speaks volumes in a restaurant serving steak. Overall, it’s a place with potential—but for now, the lack of attention to detail and underwhelming execution holds it back

We went on a Friday evening, the restaurant was pretty much empty. We were served hard bread sticks with olive compote and a green puree on welcome. The green puree was literally the sauce for everything, there were no offers of any other sauces. We had calamari to start and it came with the green sauce - we personally felt some of the other reviews were overhyping it a little, it wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t mindblowing, we felt like we’ve had better calamari so a little underwhelming. Then we had the BBQ ribs for the main and the BBQ was on the sweeter side which wasn’t my personal taste, but it was fall off the bone and the portion was big (to be fair it was €25). The fries were very good and homemade, freshly fried and crispy. The service was top notch, we had wonderful waiters, but beware if they offer you a “mocktail”, it is basically glorified apple juice for €6.50. Overall, it was a good experience but we wouldn’t revisit.

Wow!! Did not expect this to be one of our favourite meals in Porto. My boyfriend and I actually came because I was craving calamari so badly and it was one of the few restaurants in the area that had it. Coming in with no reservations on a Saturday night was not the best idea but luckily we were met with Ricardo — an awesome and kind server that found a way to accommodate us. The service was five stars, Ricardo was an extremely hospitable person. He made us smile and laugh. We also met another worker named Pablo who was just as kind and gave us awesome recommendations around the city. The food was top notch. It came quickly and all the details were just right. We got the margarita pizza, calamari, espresso martini and another small appetiser i unfortunately forgot the name of (sorry lol 😅). I’d say that everything was priced fairly. The ambience was romantic, with dim candle lighting and intimate but comfortable seating. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone. Delicious food- we had a margarita pizza which was divine!! And the squid was delicious and gorgeous restaurant with lovely crockery.And the service was pretty good too, bit disappointed the fish wasn’t available but lived everything else! x
