The Door

If you’re looking for something different in Porto, The Door is definitely worth a visit. The service is warm and highly personalized, making the whole experience feel special. The menu brings forward flavors and ingredients that you don’t come across every day, yet everything is balanced with a lot of care. The tuna carpaccio and the scallops were absolutely delicious, fresh, and perfectly executed. The chouriço, on the other hand, was the one dish that didn’t quite hit the mark for me – the sweetness in the flavor combination overshadowed the true identity of what chouriço is meant to be, at least for my Portuguese taste. But the biggest surprise came with dessert: a chocolate hummus with sea salt and pistachio. It was unexpected, creative, and incredibly good – a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, The Door offers a unique dining experience, ideal for anyone who wants to step outside the traditional and discover inventive, well-thought-out dishes. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this gem of a restaurant! The food was amazing, presentation so beautiful, generous portions, and the service was the cherry on the cake (thank you Gabriel)! Make this a top place on your itinerary! And their sparkling wine Sangria is one of a kind! The Chef is a 24 years- old genius! Cannot wait to go back:)

A meal at The Door was the highlight of our trip to Porto. We booked a table through a waiter the day before and she was so helpful in finding a time for us as they were booked up. We are vegetarian and they were so accommodating to us and changed parts of the menu and suggested dishes. The food was unbelievable and our waiter Franchesco was so warm and kind. Once we left he called us back to share a local port wine shot with him on the house which topped off a special night. Would recommend the door to anyone travelling to Porto!

Amazing place! The food was unforgettable – I especially loved the carpaccio and scallops. I would like to come back to try other dishes, which I believe are just as delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming – honestly, the best we met in Porto) Our waiter Gabriel was excellent, and made our visit even more special Reserve your table in advance

Alejandro gave us the most amazing dining experience. I highly recommend option 2, allowing Alejandro to select and pair an incredibly delicious tasting menu. You will not be disappointed.
