The server was excellent from the start. We asked for the most authentic Romanian dishes. He suggested the following: Cabbage rolls had a nice depth of flavor over mild traditional polenta. The pork/rice filling was perfectly balanced with the soured cabbage and a ripe grape tomato on top. The Romainian stew had a base of polenta, a rich flavorful stew as a middle layer and an egg on top with finely shredded goats milk cheese. Dessert was a Romain donut made with cottage cheese and sour cream. Blackberry compote with icing sugar sprinkled on top. Second dessert was apple strudel with custard and ice cream on the side. Plum brandy to end. Beautiful.

It has been 20 years since my last visit, and I can report that Casa Doina is even better. The food was delicious and traditional. The setting is gorgeous. I had Sarmale cu smantana. It was so good! Papanasi for dessert. Yummy and worth the wait. I love Romania and I love Casa Doina. Forget the USA, and its high prices.

Very good service and great options from the menu. A bit noisy because of the live music which for a fact was really performed professionally.
