Guide Commentary
If you’re looking for a chill spot that feels like a local secret, Ever After on Mendeleev Street nails that vibe perfectly. It’s tucked away in a cozy corner of the city, with a laid-back atmosphere that’s neither too loud nor pretentious—just warm and inviting, with small tables and friendly staff who really care. The kitchen brings simple yet fresh dishes like their creamy avocado toast and tasty tacos, plus their cocktails strike a great balance—never too sweet, always smooth. Prices are fair for what you get, making it a favorite hangout for locals craving good food and a relaxed spot to catch up. Weekday mornings can be quiet for a peaceful brunch, while evenings buzz just enough to feel alive without the fuss. It’s the kind of place that feels like your neighborhood’s best kept secret.

I’ve known Ever After since its early days, and I don’t usually leave reviews — but I genuinely feel the team deserves this one. I first ended up there by accident, having a meeting, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. Since then, I’ve pretty much explored the entire menu and I still return at least once a month, especially whenever I crave something that feels like a home-cooked steak, the kind my mom used to make, but updated for our times — with creamy truffle mashed potatoes, something I definitely didn’t have growing up! Everything you eat there truly has flavor. The duck with cranberry sauce is outstanding, and the Pad Thai comes impressively close to the authentic Thai version. Sending my best regards to the team — and maybe consider bringing back the crispy cauliflower to the menu. Alex
Good food, comfort atmosphere, service a bit lacking for 5 stars. But affordable prices cover it up all. Had brunch here 3 times in the same week. Tourist friendly. Would come again! Try their breakfast platter! Perfect for 2️⃣
Ever After is hands-down one of the best breakfast spots in Bucharest. We came in on a quiet morning and left completely obsessed. The avocado toast was simple but elevated—fresh, creamy, and topped with just the right amount of seasoning. The Mediterranean bowl was colorful, refreshing, and packed with flavor, while the mixed platter was a perfect sharable option with a little bit of everything. The ingredients tasted high-quality and fresh, the portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everything came out beautifully plated. The atmosphere in the morning is calm and bright, with cozy seating and a relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger. It’s the kind of place that turns breakfast into something you actually look forward to. Highly recommend starting your day here—you won’t regret it.
I visited in March, with 2 friends. The cocktails are very good, not too sweet and the alcohol is balanced. The food was very tasty, the tacos pretty simple but good. The fries with cheese are delicious. The service was professional, the waiter very friendly and open to give us suggestions regarding food. I would definitely come again.
Had a great experience here! The staff was really polite and attentive — something that’s sadly become rare during busy weekends in Bucharest, so it was a refreshing surprise. Tip: always make a reservation during the weekends, the place was fully booked, we managed to squeeze between reservations and had only an hour at our disposal. I tried the matcha, which was decent, and the warm salad with salmon was absolutely excellent — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The quesadilla was really delicious as well. Definitely a place I’ll come back to.
