Dining at Hanu’ Lui Manuc was an unforgettable experience — a perfect blend of tradition, history, and great food. The atmosphere feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by centuries-old architecture and warm hospitality. I tried the Vizir Ciolan — incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. Every bite reflected authentic Romanian craftsmanship. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the entire place radiates charm and culture. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bucharest — whether for local dishes, historical vibes, or simply a memorable culinary experience.

Visited this place twice for dinner and had different experiences. The food tends to be a bit cold/lukewarm but the flavours are good. Service was somewhat worse the first time (perhaps exacerbated by our confusion on how to order - placed using the QR code but then a server came to take our order?) we were also sat upstairs in an awkward, narrow corridor and the music was also quite loud, neither of which helped the experience. Ordered the lamb chops, which were tender, well cooked and flavoured - but lukewarm. However, service was better the second time thanks to Mihai B. and (perhaps) us sitting downstairs. Music volume was actually bearable and service was really quick (the lamb knuckle came around 5 minutes after ordering - which actually makes the lukewarm meat a stranger phenomenon here). Also ordered some pita bread, which was nice as it’s freshly made (did struggle to finish two out of three, maybe shouldn’t have ordered along them with the lamb knuckle). Somehow had room for dessert so ordered the “biscuit cake” house special and pavlova. Biscuit cake had a fruitier taste than I was expecting and wasn’t too sweet (good things, as I was thinking it might be sickeningly sweet chocolate and biscuit). Pavlova is good: some of the fruit is sour (out of season I guess), the meringue was a bit too chewy for my liking and the syrup almost tastes like cough syrup but the mascarpone cream does help with these elements (somewhat). First time we didn’t book a table and had no wait (on a Friday night - looked quite busy as we came out around 9:15 pm). Second time we booked a table for 9:30 pm, came 20 minutes early (was asked whether we’d like to sit inside or outside) and was significantly less busy when we came in and out. TL;DR food is lukewarm which is annoying. Service is good, probably don’t order using the QR code. I’d recommend sitting downstairs if you can.

We had great time. Came here for dinner, we were seated immediately. Emanuel was our server and took great care of us. The food was delicious and there was a dancing show. I would recommend this place to my friends and will come back ☺️

The dinner was great. A lot of very tasty food and fabulous deserts. The waiter, Parvu Alexandru, was very nice. He recommended us of the food and drinks and didn't let us order more food than we can eat. The music and the show were fun. I'll definitely come back next time in Bucharest.

We had a great time here while staying in Bucharest a couple of days. We wanted some authentic dishes and a cool atmosphere. We saw the decent ratings and gave it a try. Food was great as was the service and the atmosphere. We made reservations on line ahead of time and were seated in the wine cellar portion of the restaurant. There is the main (I suppose) dinning room upstairs and then this wine cellar portion below. We’re super glad we were down there! I’d suggest requesting it from the start. There is also a huge courtyard with seating and one of their bars … this place must be hopping on weekends in the warmer months. While we are not bilingual and our waiter spoke very little English, it still worked great. We liked him a lot and trusted his suggestions for us to have a coupe of their traditional desserts. One last thing - they had my all time favorite beers on tap that is only available in Eastern Europe as far as I’ve found. I love Kozel dark (brewed in the Czech Republic).
