We stopped at Cimbru for a revitalizing brunch after a heavy night out (party of three). We tried the steak & eggs Benedict and the Papara—both were excellent. The coffee was great and the service impeccable. A spot we’ll return to every time we’re back in Cluj.
Cimbru is lovely! The food is outstanding. We tried the special Steak de coama (Lion's mane (type of mushroom) steak). We've never had such a delicious vegetarian steak. Texture and taste were exceptional! The service and atmosphere is also beyond great. Prices are very good especially compared to the quality of the dishes (57 lei for the steak with mashed potatoes and different kinds of roasted vegetables). And we definitely recommend trying the pralines for dessert. We are coming back tomorrow because we loved it so much :)
Absolutely amazing! I’ve tried good beef in many places around the world and the quality of this one is at the very top. By far the best beed I’ve had in Romania. Compliments to the chef and the staff for everything. Highly recommend the place!
One of the best meals I’ve had recently. Slightly confused trying to make a reservation as didn’t realise how large their terrace is and that it’s covered (and indoors had no availability) but I was able to get a walk in spot for early Sunday dinner. Then the Argentinian steak did take over 20 minutes when ordered medium rare, but it was so worth the wait. Recommended glass of red was perfect (feteasca neagră) and the crepes were out of this world. Really no notes.
I visited this place again after four years and was pleasantly surprised, just as before. I usually order online from here and have never been disappointed. This time, I had the Argentinian beef, cooked exactly as I requested, and tried a variety of other dishes, all of which were excellent. I highly recommend the crepes with Belgian chocolate—they are outstanding. In summary, high-quality dishes at a fair price.
