Nix Tapas & Drinks

I came back to this restaurant because, after trying a few other places, I’m convinced it’s the best. The food and service are outstanding, and every dish I’ve tried has been delicious—especially the sausages in red wine and the octopus. Luca and Laura are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend this place!

The place is rather small and crowded, which gives it a nice wibe but also a stuffy atmosphere. The service was ok but a bit slow... we ordered many small dishes and it took them approx. 10 min. Between each dish, which caused the entire meal to last over 90 minutes... 😬 The food itself was rather tasty, until the last course. We ordered tuna on guacamole, and it came out with the tuna still frozen on the inside... Everything else is excusable, but that last course was a real let down... 😔 Which is ashame because the rest of the food was quite good.

Looking for a lunchtime stop off in the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona? There are so many options to choose from but we landed on Nix because it seems to provide just what we were looking for... nothing too heavy with a light drink. The restaurant is narrow and dark in layout which seems in keeping with the location. An interesting range of Tapas was displayed on the menu. However, the range of wines by the glass were less than I was expecting. The food was of high quality and generous portions. The wine was satisfactory, but not to the degree that would be drawing me back when there are so many other possibilities throughout the Gothic Quarter. Nix is well worth a visit as a one-off experience.

Fantastic service with excellent food. The gazpacho soup was wonderful and featured all the right flavours. The highlight was the razor clams. The broth that garnished the dish was infused with such complex tastes - completely blew my mind. The whole meal was absolutely on point. Would definitely come back.

This place is great, we shared the platter for 2 which gave us a chance to try a range of food and a sangria jug. Our waiter Josefina was super lovely and the service was so quick. Recommend a visit here while in Barcelona.
