The perfect spot to watch night fall across Barcelona. Food is very reasonably priced considering the location/view. Just note the pizza is a small oval-shape not a traditional large round one. Lots of raised 2 seater tables, perfect for couples like us. And a few cabana lounges for larger groups.
Must be our lucky day because the staff have given us 2 free cocktails and the pool area is nice and quiet. Staff are really happy and friendly which is great, we will come back again for sure. The music they have chosen today is perfect
Boasting a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Barcelona, the rooftop bar La Isabela at Hotel 1898 is the ideal spot for an afternoon escape or a serene evening gazing at the city’s twinkling night lights. Originally designed by a Catalan architect in 1881, the building later became the headquarters of the General Philippines Tobacco Company in 1929—the first major Spanish multinational. After a meticulous renovation, it reopened as Hotel 1898 in 2005, blending history with modern luxury. With perfect weather and an unbeatable view, we began our evening with a bottle of cava and an assortment of light snacks. This rooftop retreat is the perfect place to enjoy the warm sun and share quality time with good company. Who would have thought that simple treats like cheese, crackers, and fries could feel so comforting as you lounge in such a sophisticated setting?
Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The staff at La Isabella was incredibly helpful and well-prepared, especially with my surprise marriage proposal. Both the planning in advance and the experience on-site were flawless. Huge thanks to the entire service team – I’ll definitely be coming back and can highly recommend this place to anyone!
Quiet place on top of a hotel in La Rambla. Perfect for one drink only. The views are nice. The food was very disappointing (see picture). The cheese platter had literally couple of pieces of cheese. The rice with prawns was tasteless as if the rice was boiled with water instead of fumet or stock. The burgers came cold and hard. The end up the dinner, we ordered a mango strawberry avocado mascarpone and specifically told the waiter several times (and during the whole ordering experience) about nut allergies: the dessert came with nuts (not mentioned in the description and asked to double check). Thanks god we didn’t have it and asked to change it. Overall the food can be improved and is overrated. The wine (Rueda) was good. The bill after this disappointing dinner was quite high. At least we got a shot for free. I doubt we’d be back anytime soon (or ever). Avoid if possible.
