Casa Montaña feels like stepping into a vibrant slice of Valencia’s maritime past, with its rustic interior packed with large, full wine barrels that create a cozy, authentic atmosphere. The ambiance is lively but welcoming, perfect for sitting at the bar where the friendly staff happily share recommendations and stories. It’s a place where locals and sailors mingle, so the vibe is casual yet passionate. Food-wise, their tapas are top-notch with a focus on fresh, local seafood. Don’t miss their signature Saracen titaina—a hearty casserole with tuna belly, tomatoes, peppers, and toasted pine nuts—and the salt-cod croquettes with pine nuts, which many rave about. Portions are modest but beautifully presented, encouraging you to sample a variety of dishes. Prices lean upscale but feel fair for the quality and experience. Evenings get busy, so booking ahead is wise, though walk-ins sometimes find luck at the bar. This spot is ideal for couples or small groups who want an authentic Valencian tapas experience with excellent wine pairing options from their extensive cellar. It’s a genuine local gem, increasingly popular for its heritage charm and culinary finesse without the tourist trap feel. Social buzz highlights the bar’s atmosphere and standout seafood tapas, making it a must-visit on any Valencia food tour.

We didn’t have a reservation, but luck was on our side—we were offered a hidden private room for our group of four! It gave us such a cozy, exclusive dining experience. (A slightly stronger A/C would have made it perfect.) We chose two tasting menus and added a few extras, and every dish that came out—though small in portion—was beautifully crafted and full of flavor. The sheer variety was impressive, and every single item was excellent. The service throughout the evening was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We had a truly wonderful evening and left with full hearts and happy taste buds. Highly recommended!
The best restaurant in Valencia so far! I arrived without a reservation for a (very) late lunch, and they kindly squeezed me in. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, made with excellent produce, and cooked to perfection. The ladies in the dining room were friendly and genuinely caring. I felt truly welcomed. I’ll definitely be back for more!
This place is absolutely amazing! Such a great experience. The interior design is very unique. We sat at the bar and ordered some random tapas and house wine. Everything was so tasty. House wine has a unique taste, one of the best wines i have ever tried. Hope to visit here in the future again ❤️
This place was amazing. There is a reason why you will hear about this place when visiting Valencia. I opt for their tasting menu + which included a plate of chorizo and jamon. Every single dish is an art of Spanish gastronomy and history from 1836 tho the portions were abit small but their artisanal bread was sensational and made up for the small portions. The service is absolutely top notch with an amazing sommelier. Even though I ordered by the glasses as a solo diner, he still took me to see their cellar and enthusiastically explained to me how they ended up collecting such delicate wines. Amazing amazing amazing.
Our lunch at Casa Montaña was the highlight of our trip to Valencia. We had the degustation menu with wine pairing and really enjoyed every dish and wine which came with it. The food was on point, we especially liked the steak and the tuna. Service was fast and friendly. The value for the pricepoint is outstanding, really a must-visit place from our opinion! Thanks so much for the great time.
