Sagardi Valencia Centro
Featured in Guide
If you want a spot that really feels part of the Ciutat Vella rhythm, Sagardi Valencia Centro nails it. It’s the kind of place locals head to when they want *real* Basque flavors without any fuss. The vibe is warm and casual upstairs, with comfy seating and just the right buzz—not too loud, not dead quiet. The staff are friendly and know their stuff, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. What keeps people coming back? Their pintxos are a perfect grab-and-go treat downstairs, while upstairs you can dig into juicy Basque beef and super fresh fish that taste like they came straight from the north. The prices sit comfortably in the mid-range, so it’s easy to enjoy quality without stretching your wallet. Weeknights are a sweet spot for a relaxed meal, no frantic crowds. Perfect for catching up over good food in a genuine neighborhood spot.

Seriously good. Main restaurant is upstairs and a pinchos restaurant downstairs/outside, which looked very very good - but we opted for the main restaurant upstairs to try the basque beef. It was incredible. Beautifully cooked beef with a simple salad and potato wedges. Simple food done incredibly wel. The wine we were recommended was also superb and not overly expensive. I would highly recommend for any meat lover.
As an upscale restaurant I must admit the food and the service as well as the atmosphere was well above par. The staff really couldn't have been more professional. But also being somewhat upscale they were a little more formal than obviously a casual place. Once seated we were told we had 2 hours to finish our meal which is a very long time for just two Americans eating. The only issue I have is that our food arrived amazingly fast I mean like maybe under 5 minutes post ordering. After that the staff kept coming by asking if they could clear my plate because I eat quite a bit faster than my companion, my wife. They asked me two to three maybe even four times if they could clear my plate which really was unwelcome since we had 2 hours to finish our meal. As I stated earlier the food was really really good if you check out my photos the atmosphere was really nice. I am an architect and can really appreciate nice design and configurations. I would gladly go back and run to recommend this place I do know my wife stated the same issue I outline regarding being rushed and they said that they would adjust it. I would gladly revisit the establishment and when we return back to the Valencia I plan on going there once again. I highly recommend it especially the steak that was very well cooked perfect for our desire which was rare.
An incredible steakhouse with some of the freshest fish you’ll find, Sagardi is a true hidden gem in the heart of Valencia. Specializing in traditional Basque cuisine, this restaurant by Iñaki and Mikel López de Viñaspre transports you straight to the old-world flavors of el País Vasco with a fine dining twist. As a food lover, every bite felt like a journey back to the roots of high-end Spanish cuisine. The pacing of the meal was perfect and each dish arrived at just the right time so we could savor every flavor without feeling rushed. The staff were extremely attentive, always checking in to make sure we were enjoying everything. If you’re looking for something quicker, Sagardi also has a tapas bar downstairs, perfect for grabbing a bite without committing to a full meal. A must-visit for anyone wanting an authentic yet elevated Spanish dining experience!
