Great food, like homemade. There was a queue building up quickly after they opened, and people waited patiently (apparently, the place has been mentioned positively in guides and online). Selection of few, but well-prepared dishes. We had meatballs and a spicy sausage, both with mashed potatoes-they were excellent. Desserts and coffee were tasty as well. Friendly, professional and quick service. We’ll be back. Come early or wait till later, when most of the lunch business is finished.
Loved the food we tried here. The place is very well rated and for good reason. The salmon was one of the best I’ve ever tried and the meatballs that my partner had were really good too. It’s a pretty small space so be ready to wait a bit to be seated- but the service is good and the food was worth the wait. It’s a bit pricey just fyi.
Amazing experience. No reservations allowed. Stood in line for a long time, but the time passed quickly because we made new friends while in line. The four of us ended up eating together. We were able to cut the line a little by eating at the bar. Chris was the bartender and our server and his personality made the evening shine. We started with two appetizers: herring and reindeer. Both delicious. Then two of us had the swedish meatballs (Chris's grandmother's recipe, or so he said😉). One of us had the salmon and another had the pork cheek. Everything was delicious. And, of course we had drinks. We started with the schnapps and a Swedish spritzer. Finally, Apple crumble and Grandma's sponge cake for dessert. Absolutely amazing evening, I highly recommend.
The service was very poor — myself and several others waited for a long time without being acknowledged by the staff, even with plenty of available tables. I experienced it as a party of one (it took 15 minutes for them to offer me a seat at the empty bar), and watched it happen to countless guests waiting in the queue behind me. This was at 4:30 pm on a Friday. My salmon was warm but the potatoes arrived cold. Overall for the poor service experience and okay food, I would not recommend.
Just had my first meal in Sweden at Stockholms Gästabud for Midsummer Eve, and wow, what a way to start! I was torn between the meatballs and the butter-fried salmon, but the waiter's recommendation for the fish was spot on – it was absolutely amazing with the herb and truffle mayonnaise and dill potatoes. Seriously, so good! Beyond the food, the whole experience was fantastic. The staff are just awesome, so friendly and helpful. The place has such a cozy vibe, and even though there was a small 5-minute wait, it was totally worth it. Loved everything about it!
