Restaurang Prinsen offers an excellent introduction to traditional Swedish cuisine in a warm and elegant setting. My overall experience here was fantastic. The Swedish meatballs were perfectly cooked — tender, flavorful, and served with all the classic accompaniments. The lobster soup was also a highlight, rich and well-balanced with a depth of flavor that made it truly memorable. The service was attentive and welcoming, with staff who were both professional and friendly, adding to the comfort of the evening. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy yet stylish, combining a touch of history with a lively dining vibe, making it a great spot for both locals and visitors. If you’re looking to enjoy authentic Swedish dishes in Stockholm with great food, service, and ambiance, I highly recommend Prinsen.
My first visit at Restaurant Prinsen was such a great experience! We had dinner with friends and really enjoyed the warm, classic atmosphere. The decor feels elegant and timeless, and the service was excellent – friendly and attentive. The menu offers traditional Swedish cuisine. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but absolutely worth it for the quality and experience. I especially loved my fresh salad with shrimp, pumpkin, and mustard dressing – so flavorful and well-balanced. We had several tasty drinks with the food, and ended the evening with a delicious pavlova. A perfect spot for a relaxed, upscale dinner in the heart of Stockholm. Can’t wait to go back! 🥰
Lovely restaurant in central Stockholm with the friendliest staff. They have a great lunch menu option with a starter and main until 4:30pm or you have a great selection on the a la carte menu. The standout was the toast skagen which was absolutely gorgeous! Would highly recommend.
Prinsen is Swedish old-school at its absolute best. If you’re in the mood for classics like perfectly done meatballs or a proper toast Skagen, this is the place to go. It feels like stepping back 50 years, but in all the right ways - timeless atmosphere, a sense of tradition, and an elegance that’s rare today. Unlike many places nearby, the staff here are genuinely warm and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. If you want old-school and super good, Prinsen delivers.
Great steak dinner here. Specially good is their bread and butter which is served artistically at the start. Steak was good. Was soft and not chewy. Service and staff was excellent. Would like to come back here again.
