This place offered delicious comfort food, good service with attentive staff, and great location steps away from the train station. Everything tasted homemade, hearty, and deeply satisfying. The boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili is highly recommended.
Very nice comfort Sichuan comfort food. At first we thought the price for the seabass soup was high, when it came however, the portions more than made it fair for the price. We would recommend at least 2-3 people for the serving size of the soup. The chicken was also quite nice and flavourful. As we have been travelling Europe for the last few weeks, this was a nice welcome for Asian cuisine.
Let’s start with the atmosphere- A normal typical Chinese restaurent in Switzerland. Worth for 3 star.. Food- I will give 65% to Xiang Yu that all other Chinese restaurent has also a very similar recipe except for one dish called sweet sour pork rib. Pls look at the photo, can u imagine or name what kind of food this is? Looks like charcoal with soy source to me. Despite of the pork rib. 3 stars. Service- now come to the best part. We called for booking a table but there is no telephone line. So I emailed, still no reply. Finally we go there to book table, only have table after one half hours later, so we accept it. But still have to wait after we reached. There is no table was reserve.. but wait. A middle size skinny Chinese guy with fluffy hairstyle acting like a boss, a real boss will not look like that, trust me! From beginning to end there is no smile, no thank you, not polite gesture and no appreciation but pretty much like we are paying the money to beg for the food… arranging a seat is like owe him million of dollars. However, I noticed he was always smiling to local Geneva ppl who speak French. A Chinese restaurant really have a such a bad altitude to Singaporean like us? What a joke! Come to the billing part, a pretty Chinese lady even asked us for tips? 🤔.. a restaurant with no service at all, not even a courtesy for asking how’s the food, how’s everything…. etc. Dare to ask for tips? 0 star, but there is no 0 star, so I have to compromise and scarify for 1 star, what a shame.
This place is great, if you don’t want to be disappointed you need to book. We didn’t but we were lucky and persistent which landed a table. The service is fast and efficient. The food is very authentic tasting and just simply done well. During our dinner there we watched a serious number of people being turned away!
Wanted to try this place for a while and loved it! Came with no reservation-greeted with a smile and had table in 5min. Food is really authentic! For sure can recommend pork ears and steamed porc belly with wine leaves! The steamed porc and cabbage dumplings were a lil less- but still great! Will come back when next time in GVA!
