Café de Paris – Chez Boubier in Geneva offers an unforgettable dining experience with its iconic Entrecôte Café de Paris. The perfectly cooked steak, paired with the rich, aromatic butter sauce, is the star of the show. The classic Parisian ambiance adds to the charm, and the attentive service ensures a memorable meal. While it’s a bit on the pricier side, the quality and tradition make it well worth the visit. A must-try for steak lovers!
Well I have high expectation, however it didn't suit to my taste. I tried several cafe de Paris sauce before and I would say this one is not my cup of tea. The beef also dried, seems like it's pre cooked before. Wish they pay more attention on their quality so they can keep up with their reputation as the founder of cafe de Paris.
It’s really just ok. For a restaurant that only have one dish, we waited 45 mins to get served the meat, and it’s not sizzling hot so really don’t understand why it took so long for the kitchen to get ready. The meat is the French type of thin cut steak, and honestly very overcooked for medium. The garlic butter and the salad is probably the better part but just what you expect. If you like thick cut of steak this would really let you down. The servers are fine.
Living in Geneva, Café de Paris is one of those places I always recommend to friends visiting the city — and for good reason. The entrecôte is consistently amazing: perfectly tender, juicy, and served with that famous buttery sauce and golden fries. Simple, classic, and done right every single time. The restaurant itself is small and always busy, so a reservation is a must, even for locals. It can feel a bit crowded, but the service is fast and efficient, and they keep things moving without rushing you. It’s also super conveniently located near Cornavin station, which makes it easy whether you’re coming by train or car (you can just park at the station). Even after living here for years, I still go back — it’s a Geneva institution for a reason.
Been visiting for over 10 years. Always delicious, never gone wrong. Particularly enjoy the outdoor seating on days with good weather. Will be visiting again next time I'm in town.
