We had dinner at Le Bar des Bergues and it was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and perfectly paced. The ambiance strikes a beautiful balance between elegance and comfort, with stunning views that elevate the entire experience. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor — clearly made with high-quality ingredients and great attention to detail. A special thank you to the staff for making the evening feel both relaxed and refined. Whether you’re visiting Geneva or live here, Le Bar des Bergues is absolutely worth a visit
The cod was much much better than the trout with Mango sauce. Though I've had the cod cooked similarly elsewhere in nyc sfo tyo mnl hkg it was the best. Unfortunately my partner ordered the cod. The vanilla ice cream was very delicious. Service is slow compared to mnl and sfo but you get used to it. The chairs are inviting and we had the view of lac lemon. Very pleasant afternoon
Tried their new afternoon tea and liked it. The pastries were delicious and their presentation perfect. The ambiance could improve. It not elegant at all or "ceremonius" as you would expect from an afternoon tea at such a nice hotel. People around you are having burgers and beers. Maybe if they moved the tea to the restaurant it would be more appropriate.
The food was okay but it took an hour to receive it which is way too much for a weekly lunch. The service was pretty bad too. I arrived and as soon as they saw me the girl claimed I needed a reservation (which was in fact false since I called the next day and they told me we don’t need it) but will let me for an hour if it’s ok and I accepted. I ended up staying longer than an hour since the food took an hour to come. When I sitted no server said hi or acknowledge me, they didn’t even gave me a menu for like 20 minutes before I asked for it while they were saying hi, giving menus directly and being friendly to other customers. We wonder why. You wouldn’t expect discrimination in this type of setting in an international city like Geneva yet here we are. It was absolutely classless and not a service you would expect in a 5 stars hotel. Ultimately I got a different server that ended the service quite well to save it but the beginning left a pretty bad impression of the bar for me.
I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the ground floor restaurant Le Bar des Bergues insides the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva. I just had a quick tatin apple pie and a tea and it was amazingly good.
