Eritrean Hospitality and Flavor! S Family is hands down one of the best Eritrean restaurants in Zurich. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with genuine warmth that makes you feel like you’re visiting family. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for both a relaxed dinner or a special gathering with friends. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish is rich in flavor and clearly made with love and tradition. The injera is perfectly soft with just the right tang, and the variety of stews (both vegetarian and meat options) are aromatic, spicy, and incredibly satisfying. Their zigni and shiro are standout favorites! Portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. Don’t forget to try the traditional coffee ceremony it’s a beautiful touch that adds to the authenticity of the whole experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore East African cuisine or simply enjoy a warm, flavorful meal in great company. Will definitely be back again soon!

This was our third visit, and once again we left very satisfied. We tried the S-Family platter, a traditional dish to share that includes three different kinds of meat, served with vegetables and lentils. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. We also tried the Eritrean beer and grappa, which had a strong anise flavor and went down surprisingly smoothly! The owner Samuel was very welcoming and friendly and shared some interesting cultural insights about Eritrea and Ethiopia. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

Definitely the best Ethiopian option in Zurich and most likely the entire country. Injera and everything above it was what I expected. But me can even go full vegetarian and still have a great culinary experience that is authentic of east Africa. The service was excellent as well. The attendant was always polite and looked after our table. As of Sept 2025 a drink and a full plate of injera with toppings would be around 35 to 40 CHF. Highly recommended!

Authentic, tasty and amazing customer care. One of us, had a dietary requirement and they were super acommodating. Will come back!

Amazing atmosphere! Authentic Eritrean and Ethiopian restaurante in town! Incredible food, special coffee cerimony and good people working here. I trully recommend it!
