Proper coffee (speciality) place… they’re passionate about it and offer the warmest personal service and attention. Super nice and welcoming people. The coffee is AMAZING, done the proper way, even grounded by hand for a perfect experience. The cinnamon roll was exquisite and perfect pair with the coffee. If you’re one who enjoy the coffee experience, this is the place for you! Loved this place and will come back, for sure!!! Thank you so much, guys.
I've been all over the UK and Europe for the best mocha and coffee I can find and I didn't think that I would find one of the best of them in Birmingham. The reason being that I never read or hear about Birmingham being a coffee hub or places going viral and it always seems to be places in London or Manchester. So when I stumbled in and met Mike Brad and Ben (MBB) and the friendliest introduction and the absolute warm feeling all throughout cannot be understated how great it makes the rest of the experience. I mean the coffee is incredible and yet the attitudes of these dudes is such a credit to the Shop. Onto the coffee. Had the Belgian flaked mocha. It was incredible. This shop based on that drink alone is already in my top 5 coffees I've ever had and I spoke to my friend today to mention that I won't forget this coffee (yes I really do think this way about coffee) Finally, I've no hesitation in recommending the coffee bar collective and can only hope they expand with the same standard of quality to closer to me in Manchester so I can enjoy this more frequently!
Tried three pour-overs, each one its own quiet journey! With such care to the coffee craft, with the water tuned and mineralised for different coffees, the different droppers chosen for each and pour-over recipes crafted through clearly lots and lots of trial and error Matthew and Brad bring a calm passion—the conversation feels as thoughtful as the coffee. Small space, but full of lots of presence. I really enjoy the coffee and the conversations here Birmingham feels richer for this little corner of craft and care - can’t wait for the new shop in Society Birmingham!
Collective - meaning "gathering"/"bringing together" of - various drinks and bakes from pretty much all over the world (inc. Asia + South/Central Americas) - and people of all communities/cultures and ages, and even couples, friends and families. Very tasty drinks - such as teas, coffees and hot chocolates, and even iced drinks; glass of water is generously served always whenever you sit in; both house and guest coffees are also served here. Very tasty bakes - such as sweet (e.g. cinnamon bun esp when toasted and warmed up) and savoury (e.g. sandwich toasties like mushroom). Kind, helpful, friendly, considerate, accommodating and knowledgeable Baristas (and Chefs) - they know their drinks and bakes stuff very well, and they're happy to make suggestions/recommendations where required - thereby forming intimate/close interactions/rapport with customers. Comfortable seats, tables and even benches - whether you choose to sit inside or outside. Small but nicely lit and cosy atmosphere with nice music playing in the background inside - however the bar will be moving to a new, bigger building nearby soon (in around June 2025). Stacks of magazines available - different kinds/themes like fashion and interior designs - should you wish to read or entertain yourself (or others) whilst eating and drinking inside. Interesting moments - can provide inspiration (e.g. creative storytelling); pleasant events tend to occur (e.g. meeting new people and making friends with others). I was once greeted by a lovely Labrador belonging to another customer whilst sat inside, which made me feel very happy, hence happy memories are created. Amazing service - both reasonably priced and timely served. Overall, the Coffee Bar is cosy and colourful, and full of amazing artisans - pretty much coming up with creative ideas for new/potential recipes, whether they're drinks or bakes/food.
Jonah, Ben and Lucy were so friendly, warm and kind. You can tell this place trains their team very well as they are all so knowledgeable, engaging and accommodating! The coffee was amazing and the experience from the moment you stepped inside was exceptional! Thank you again :)
