The Dome

A stunningly beautiful place for a memorable dinner. The space is elegantly designed and beautifully lit, with grand floral arrangements that add a truly unique and impressive touch. The atmosphere feels both luxurious and welcoming. Service was warm and attentive throughout. The menu offers a wide variety of choices—my fish dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the mushroom soup was rich and comforting. A lovely dining experience all around.

We were recommended to come to the Club Room for brunch and it was amazing. The food was good but the ambience is great. Beautiful rooms, fabulous decor and a real sense of history. We were looked after Yash, who was really helpful and pleasant. I went for the Scottish breakfast (but no black pudding) and my wife went for the superbowl (much healthier). The food was delicious and we finished with a breakfast scone with coffee. Overall a really lovely experience. Need to come back for dinner next time.

Please book the afternoon tea if you get the chance. The location is central, the building is breathtaking and the service and food were excellent. Wed didn’t think we’d need the full two hours but we ended up enjoying the service so much we stayed. Reservations recommended - especially if you are in town around a holiday or event. But it was worth it. You can substitute coffee for tea if you or your companions prefer. Looking forward to going back.

We went there on a Sunday night. This place was absolutely stunning and the dome hall was decorated in exquisite taste. We were served by Enbo and tried two drinks which were designed by himself. I definitely loved its pink appearance and special recipe. The garnish of a cherry blossom was the finishing touch. His service was very comfortable and satisfying, we really did have a pleasant night there! Recommend to every this place!

Monumental from the outside, spectacular on the inside – The Dome never disappoints and is one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh! The restaurant is impressive with its service and stunning interior. It is large and accessible with a selection of rooms for different dining experiences, plenty of seating options, a substantial bar, private dining area, and a sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere. This historical landmark was originally built in the 18th century, and has been beautifully maintained with original Georgian architecture. The interior exudes decadence with beautiful bronze doors, decorative marble floors, crystal chandeliers, high ceilings, fluted columns, and a spectacular glass dome – its namesake - as the centerpiece. The service was exceptional, consistently warm, attentive and professional. Our server, Wictoria, was delightful and incredibly thorough, and provided us with the perfect experience through menu explanations, wine recommendations and anticipating drink refills and dessert. Everything was perfectly timed, the table and cutlery were cleared between courses, and water refilled regularly. The food was absolutely amazing with a comfort food meets fine dining feel. The portion sizes were good, beautifully plated, and everything we ordered was fresh, delicious and prepared to perfection. The menu was small, but they offered a great selection of items to choose from as well as a prix fixe menu option for pre dinner dining, and the price for the quality and experience was excellent. They also offer a great selection of wine and cocktails. We had the charcuterie and cheese board to start, tomato soup, free range chicken breast, steak pie with mashed potatoes and baked vanilla cheesecake with coconut ice cream. I LOVED the steak pie and the cheesecake! Highly recommend for the food, service, décor and experience!!
