We had a fantastic meal here, the mushroom dish was a particular standout. All of the staff were lovely and very attentive. They have a fully vegetarian option and allow you to pick between both menus which is a nice touch. Highly recommend

Cool concept and nice attention to detail. Service team was on top of it. Lots of love for Seasonal and Regional ingredients. A dining experience but at the same time not too much or too stuffy. Not the formulaic Michelin Star restaurant. Wine list was comprehensive without being overcrowded. Only minor critique might be the volume of the music at times. We had a great time, thank you!!

A really nice place, a kind of stylish but also rustic. And the food is really delicious, the lunch menu allows a selection of various options. Especiallly the starter (lion‘s mane) and the dessert made me happy. A really nice fine dining option in Edinburgh.

We arrived without a reservation (unaware pre-booking was essential), yet the staff graciously accommodated us for the following evening. From the moment we stepped in, every detail impressed—the inviting aromas in the dining area, even the curated ambiance of the washrooms spoke of refined taste. The food was a revelation: inventive, beautifully crafted, and a true explosion of flavors. Each dish felt like a discovery. Timberyard isn’t just a meal—it’s an event. We’ll absolutely return on our next visit to Edinburgh. We visited in mid March.

I first visited Timberyard back in January and honestly left a little underwhelmed as the menu felt flat and I was surprised when staff brushed it off as “well, it’s winter.” At the time, it felt dismissive, especially for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Fast forward to now, and what a transformation. I decided to give Timberyard another chance and I’m so glad I did. The menu was absolutely stunning, thoughtful, balanced, and full of flavour and the service was impeccable from start to finish. What really impressed me was that they acknowledged my previous experience and even went as far as to comp my cheese course to “make amends.” That level of customer care is rare and shows a true commitment to hospitality. This visit reminded me why Timberyard has its reputation: outstanding food, beautiful atmosphere, and above all, a team who really care about their guests. I left feeling so happy and taken care of. Thank you for turning things around in such a memorable way.
