If I could give this place six stars, I would, but I think they’d just hand me another cappuccino and tell me to calm down. The coffee at Books N’ Cup Cafe is so good I briefly considered applying for citizenship. The pastries are dangerously addictive (pretty sure there’s a wizard in the kitchen). The cups and plates look like they were crafted by a potter with a PhD in “aesthetic coziness,” and the interior design is so stunning I half expected someone to yell “Cut!” because I was clearly on the set of a lifestyle magazine shoot. Come for the caffeine, stay because you’ll suddenly feel like redecorating your whole house. One day later I was back to enjoy the same fantastic coffee for the last time before leaving Edinburgh.🥲

It's difficult to rate a place that may have an entirely different experience on another day but we could only go once. The bakery products were not what I hoped for when I looked at all the youtube videos about cafes in Edinburgh but they were ok. Too expensive for what they were so we stuck with the coffee selections instead, which were very good. Service was friendly but not over the top nice. Seating was cozy but very tight unless you were lucky enough to get the two plush chairs by the fireplace (we weren't). It's certainly worth a visit and we had nothing bad to say about it.

Cute little cafe on Home Street with warm, helpful staff. I loved the concept of choosing your fresh cheese and veggies for your toasties. It was a delicious, no-fuss toastie that was not too heavy. Love the Edinburgh vibes in the cafe. Best to come here solo or with one person as the tables are a bit small in size.

Went the last two mornings while Staying in Edinburgh. The cinnamon roll and Nutella treat were very good and the cappuccinos were fantastic. They have really Cool coffee mugs that your drinks are served in and the ambience is very rustic which is cool.

The drinks are very delicious. I've been there several times and will definitely come back. I'm not a local, but it's worth a visit. Thanks to the barista.
