Great experience, pricey but in the economic side being a Michelin star restaurant. Excellent menu, incredible preparations and great service. If you're in Edinburgh and having these 7 course menus is your thing. You should visit the Wedgwood.
Wow! We did the 8 course wee tour of Scotland and it was hands down the best food we’ve ever had. Several things on the menu I would have never ordered otherwise, so I’m delighted to have tried so many new foods cooked to perfection. In addition to the amazing food, our servers were incredibly attentive, very friendly, and would chat about the different foods we were tasting. Amazing experience and restaurant. We will make it a point to return anytime we’re in Edinburgh.
Blown away by the service. My wife indicated that our daughters had food allergies when we booked and they created a a modified menu of all the things safe for them to eat. Friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the food, sourcing, and wine and whiskey. We would come back here often if we lived in Edinburgh. Food was amazing - I enjoyed the chef’s tasting menu thoroughly. Not a miss on the entire list. What an experience. The owner Lisa could not have been more accommodating and welcoming.
Amazing food. Amazing service. We were grateful they were able to fit us in for a late seating (I think we were just very lucky with timing, and reservations are required). Very imaginative menu highlighting some of the best quality ingredients you can find in Scotland. Lobster thermidor creme brulee and oyster snack were not only unique, but absolutely delicious. Scallop special with pickled strawberries was perfectly cooked and balanced. Chicken breast was also cooked perfectly, and the Highland ribeye was also delicious (cooked a bit past medium, but still tender, so I can't really complain at all). Sticky toffee pudding was excellent, especially with a glass of Pedro Ximinez sherry. Wine list is also excellent with high quality selections at various price points. Real standout was the Michelin level service through the entire meal. Top of our list for our next visit to Edinburgh.
I went here the night I got engaged and can hands down say it was the best meal I have ever had. From the get go, the service was great. Drinks came quick, the Pork Belly appetizer we got was unbelievable. My fiancé got the sea trout while I got the chicken for mains. Each dish was literally unreal - the balance between the main meat & all the supplementary vegetables/sauces/purees, mashes, etc., were truly remarkable. They provided a shot glass each full of some type of broth “on the house” to boost the experience as well while waiting for the mains. This type of little detail goes a long way to making the dining experience unique & special. Another thing to note - the portion sizes are nailed down perfectly. They were large enough that you didn’t feel ripped off, while not being too big that leave you feeling TOO full & sick afterwards - well done. I believe to finish the meal we got the chocolate mousse cake - it was great as well. And with the bill, again, they provided some type of treat “on the house” that was also unreal and bite sized. For the quality, size of meals, diverse flavours, and the fact that they accommodated my gluten free allergies very well (could get almost everything on the menu), the price was exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. Thanks for making the night I got engaged truly memorable!
