The food is good and authentic. But they’re overly seasoned , so most of the dishes are really salty , especially the mango salad and also the sweetcorn fritters which I was disappointed, otherwise the vibe was great with nice decor that reminded me when I was in Bangkok! It’s £30 per person with two starters and one main to share between the two (no drink). it is a bit too pricy considering the mama noodles is supposedly to be a cheap dish and is extremely cheap to buy (though it’s in central London so it kinda make sense in a way I guess)
I can’t tell if the food is good or not. I can’t handle spicy so I asked the waitress if the food is spicy or not (the noodle dish in the picture(no.15 on the menu)). The waitress told me that it was NOT spicy so I went with what I wanted at first. It turned out it was too spicy for me. I can barely eat it… it’s such a scam and we still have to pay £17 for that… I reported to them and didn’t even get a simple “sorry” The restaurant definitely needs to work on that more (at least they need to know what dish is spicy…) Looks like their waitress is not familiar with their menu
Speedboat Bar has nailed the basics - a concise one pager menu and food with fresh and bold flavours. I only ordered the Tom Yam Mama Noodles as a main and it was fantastic. The right amount of heat and depth of flavour until the last spoonful. Pork was crispy on the outside and tender. I also tried the crispy chicken skins. They were indeed very crispy and flavourful, making you want more. The pineapple pie with taro ice-cream was a fantastic end, crispy pastry and caramelised pineapple inside.
We visited the Speedboat Bar and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere felt very authentic, both in terms of the food and the interior design. The service was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive impression. We sat upstairs, which was a nice spot, though it was quite loud and made conversation a bit difficult. The menu offered good options, but the selection for vegetarians was somewhat limited. One thing to note: the Pad Krapao was extremely spicy — so be prepared if you order it! Overall, a great place with authentic vibes and tasty food – just be prepared for a lively, noisy setting.
I loveeed this place. It was hands down the best Thai food I've had. Everything was extremely fast, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I recommend everything I tried (Sweetcorn fritters, Pickled Mustard Salad and Purple Aubergine Stir-fry), and it's so nice that they have a separate vegetarian menu. Definitely would go again! (and sorry the food was so good we only took a pic after)
