Dovetale, by two Michelin Star Chef Tom Sellers. The restaurant offers European classics. Rich wood decor. On warmer days, the terrace is a standout feature. The food was enjoyable , but not memorable. Nothing to praise about. Service was good.
Food was average priced too high for the portion size. The cocktails were a problem see the pictures for what cocktails look like. Asked for a floral cosmotini expecting a nice cocktail glass and actually taste of all the ingredients in the cocktail. I have had brunches at many hotels and you get nice cocktails if u are paying £22 each. Cocktails ordered all tasted of pure alcohol and nothing else and presented in the smallest glasses not even wine glasses. When a bill is given you expect waiters to say how was your meal nothing so had to report the issue regarding cocktails when leaving.
The lobster pasta was disappointing; the lobster was soft and lacked freshness, while the pasta had a minimal and basic sauce. Honestly, the presentation was shocking for a dish priced at £75. The lamb was also underwhelming. The plating felt random, and despite requesting medium rare, it arrived well done. On a positive note, the sourdough was surprisingly good, and the carpaccio was enjoyable, especially with the mustard seeds. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, but overall, it doesn’t justify the high prices.
Gorgeous atmosphere. Fried chicken sandwich was amazing and the pancakes were good. However the service was a bit lacking; staff weren't as attentive as I'd expected. Beware of the high 15% service charge as I wasn't aware of it until I got the bill!
Starters are great, mains are too mediocre. Cocktails we ordered literally had no taste. So we skipped dessert. Too frequent of checking on things like “how’s the food so far” from staffs on odd timings. Apart from it, good service.
