Came here for our 6th anniversary which I did state in our reservation but didn't receive any congratulations or special dessert as others have had. Although we don't drink wine, we were completely ignored by the wine guy who seemed to have joyful conversations with the rest of the guests. Perhaps this is a sign to start drinking wine? As it was a very special occasion we went for the signature tasting menu which is surprisingly filling. Food was well presented and very tasty. However my steak was quite chewy and the xo fried rice was overpowering. The restaurant is well decorated and tables well spaced out. However, I found it was too dark and loud for our liking (there's a DJ in the back). Despite all of these issues, we did have a decent time thanks to our waitress (Izzy?) who was absolutely lovely and made us feel at ease. However, the meal with drinks costed me £340 and the overall experience was disappointing so won't be rushing back any time soon.

Absolutely beautiful food in a great atmosphere. The restaurant is housed in one of the city’s grandest, listed buildings and it is a stunning space with a great vibe. We had the Journey menu which was a lovely way to sample the great food across the whole menu. Highly recommend the Lucky Cat for a one-off high end experience. Thank you to our server, Abi who was perfect and showed no sign at all of it being her first week in the job!

Our evening at Lucky Cat was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The atmosphere was fabulous, luxurious and grand without being pretentious. Our waitress, Hika, was so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We trusted her recommendations and didn’t regret it whatsoever. Every single dish we ordered was so fresh, flavoursome and high in quality. We enjoyed each course thoroughly and it would be a pleasure to return when we are next in Manchester. I would definitely recommend Lucky Cat for a finer dining experience that is worth every penny.

The food was, without a doubt, a work of art. The dishes were a playful and theatrical journey of Asian-inspired flavors, Each plate was a testament to the kitchen's skill and creativity, demonstrating a deep respect for the ingredients and a bold approach to flavor. It's a culinary spectacle that truly lives up to the hype. While the food was phenomenal, it was the service that elevated our night from excellent to extraordinary. A special and heartfelt thank you goes to Mo, who was an absolute star. Mo was not only incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with perfect recommendations, but his genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel like the only people in the room. He was professional, engaging, and had an infectious enthusiasm that made our experience truly personal and memorable. Mo, you are a credit to Lucky Cat.

Firstly the building is beautiful… From the Jamie’s Italian days until now with Lucky Cat, it’s stunning! Our server was super friendly from start to finish which makes the experience. Starting off with the drinks, they are pretty pricey especially the cocktail with many around the £15-£20 mark but they do have a extensive menu to choose from. As for the food, the menu offers plenty of selection and something for everyone. We started with the spicy edamame & Kyoto Cucumbers. Whilst the cucumber was delicious with the dressing, it wasn’t worth £8.5 for a bit of cucumber. Next up we had the sweet & sour prawns, mushroom dumplings and the tofu bao. The tofu bao was the worst dish of our whole meal and was completely bland. It literally didn’t taste of anything which was very disappointing. We had to dip it in the sauce for the dumplings for some flavour. For mains we had the miso salmon & crispy pork. The pork was absolutely delicious, the nicest pork I’ve ever had, but presentation could be better. The salmon was ok but not much of the miso flavour came through making it simply just a piece of salmon. The accompanying tender-stem broccoli and egg fried rice were both tasty. Overall the food was ok but I would say the flavour of the dishes doesn’t warrant the price. Everything tasted a bit under seasoned with some dishes bland. It was good to try it out, it has potential but probably wouldn’t return sadly.
