As good as the Glasgow restaurant. We took the Gaucho Sampler (£130) for 2, 1.2Kg of beef and it was succulent. The knife was cutting the meat as it was cutting a leaf. I also advise to take some sides such as mash potato or spinach as they are cooked in an amazing way. As an entree, I had the crab toast and it was also excellent, although a little bit spicy, maybe I missed the "spicy" info on the menu. Atmosphere is also amazing. I think this used to be a Church? There's still an organ with its pipe. The balcony is beautifully decorated and the chandeliers are magnificent. Service was also excellent, nothing to add. HOWEVER, I'm sick and tired of restaurant adding service to the bill directly! This is NOT ACCEPTABLE, ESPECIALLY WITH A 20% ADD! 20% is ludicrous. So although, we were pleased, we will NOT come back due to the 20% service added (and of course, they don't tell you that it has been added hoping that you will also leave a cash tip!!!!). Totally dishonest and unacceptable.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, lovely interior. Steak was excellent, chips were average for the price oven fries, triple cooked/homemade would be better, the desserts let them down too for the price. Wasn't too keen on the chimichurri that comes with all steaks it didn't taste of much, they should let you pick your own. Good wine selection and waiter explained it all, reasonably priced options there too I had a lovely Italian red for £7
We had an incredible experience at Gauchos Restaurant! From start to finish, the food and service were absolutely amazing. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. But the true highlight of the night was being served by the bartender, Steve. He was incredibly attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to make our evening special. Steve walked us through the entire cocktail menu with so much enthusiasm and knowledge — it was clear he’s passionate about what he does. He even shared some great insights and recommendations, making the whole experience that much more enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Thank you so much, Steve, for making our night unforgettable!
Wow…this place is a true gem. My partner and I booked a last minute dinner reservation here and we are so glad we did! The food is absolutely top notch. The burrata was fresh, melted in your mouth, and was balanced perfectly by some lightly sweet marinara on toast. Beef tartare tacos were also great. The real star of the show however was the 300g steak al chorizo we both ordered, mine with fries and my partners with mashed potatoes. I have truly never had a better steak in my life!!!! The beef is Argentinian and you can really taste the difference that raising cattle well and ethically makes. We also ordered some broccolini which came with some kind of sweeter sauce which was not my favorite, I would have preferred it just to have been served on its own. On an equally high level is the service at this establishment. Our waiter, Jeff, was an absolute pleasure to have serve us. He was super knowledgeable and his charisma was off the roof!! Several times throughout our meal we had people come by and ask us about our experience. You can really tell that the people here care about their customers and as tourists it was a true breath of fresh air. Yes the prices here are higher than a lot of the surrounding establishments. BUT you are truly paying for good quality food and amazing service that makes you feel welcome. I would say that if anything this establishment is undercharging for the high level food they serve. I would dare say that Gaucho is one of the best restaurants I have frequented throughout my travels. Would recommend to absolutely anyone looking for a nicer and amazing meal in Manchester!
The restaurant is decorated in a dark and elegant style. The service is excellent and always attentive without being intrusive. The Chateau Briand is impeccable but the side dishes are a little small and not salty enough. The price-performance ratio is fine. Unfortunately the music was a bit too loud with the DJ but that's a minor problem
