Me and my Husband decided to visit this restaurant finally after the revamp from Muzu and we were very impressed with the food! Everything was super fresh and packed with delicious flavour. My Waguy was cooked to perfection, made me very happy. The cocktails and wine were to a high standard which is always a must for me personally. Service was also super friendly and timely could not fault anything. The meal was pricey but good value for money as everything was delicious and high standard. Was perfect for a romantic date night. Me and my husband are definitely looking forward to visiting again soon.
I booked Kaji’s 12-course Chef’s Counter with wine pairing as a birthday gift for my fiancé. The food was outstanding — bold in flavour, beautifully presented, and each dish showed real creativity and finesse. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu. Her pacing and thoughtful descriptions made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. My rating for service is in no way a reflection of her or the chef’s work — they were excellent. Unfortunately, the evening got off to a disappointing start. We were told on arrival that the wine pairing wasn’t available, with no prior notice or suggested alternative. It felt like a key part of the experience had been dropped. We spent time choosing a bottle of wine from the menu, only to find it wasn’t available either. By then, I was frustrated and let down, which coloured the beginning of the evening. It was only my fiancé’s calm reassurance that helped me relax and enjoy what should have felt celebratory. While we were offered an apology, a small gesture — like a complimentary glass of fizz — would’ve softened the disappointment. When a venue describes itself in terms of finesse, those finer details matter.
What a fantastic experience here , the food was amazing. We had the Chateaubriand and it was the best beef I’ve ever tasted Also the milk bread was brilliant The cocktails are very tasty and well presented The staff are super attentive and will definitely be going again Loved every minute of it
Everything from start to finish was truly phenomenal. We went for the tasting menu and at first I was quite apprehensive because I didn’t think I’d be able to finish the food. But the portions sizes were fantastic, the spacing between each course were timed to perfection and the time we spent there flew by. The overall vibe is chilled. Highly recommend
My friend chose this spot for lunch, and we went for the £30 lunch offer. Right from the start, the reception offered to take our coats, setting the tone for a smooth experience. The restaurant itself was chic and polished, with a vivid cherry blossom pattern decorating the space. After being seated, we were given a couple of menus and ordered tap water—I've been caught before with places charging £6+ for still water, so it was nice to avoid that surprise here. The menu was vast, with a few classic favourites. For the lunch offer, we had deep-fried oysters, ox cheek, and steak, along with a side of fatty tuna nigiri and a sashimi selection. The cocktail menu was creative, though a few mocktails I chose were unavailable, so I went with a refreshing blood orange and tea drink. The set menu also included fresh, sweet bread, edamame beans, and delicate smoked salmon and egg-filled balls, which were a unique touch. The sashimi was top-notch, with fresh tuna, salmon, and sea bass. The fatty tuna was decent, though for the price, I've had better in London for more than double the portion and half the cost. The oysters were delicious, and the steak was spot on. However, I was less impressed by the £7 side of undercooked potatoes, though the cabbage was delicious. To finish, I had a rhubarb dessert that was tart but a flavoursome panacotta Overall, the presentation was beautiful, and the flavours were wonderful. However, it felt a bit overpriced, especially with the hefty service charge. When it's that high, it almost feels like they try too hard to earn it. Personally, I prefer a more authentic Japanese feel, which was missing here. Also, some cocktails were premixed so you could not order umeshu independently. Still, an enjoyable experience with a few minor critiques.
