KIBOU Japanese Restaurant & Bar - Solihull

Really enjoyed our experience here, had a lovely meal for 2 with my gf for a birthday treat using a Kibou gift card we had received. Service was excellent, Mikey our waiter really made the experience special. Food was excellent as was the atmosphere, tried and sampled a variety of dishes, Mikey even brought over a little sampler for us to try while we explored the menu, and a complimentary birthday dessert! Would highly recommend, we will most definitely be back again soon.

The sushi we got was overpriced, not much flavour. They were very stingy with the sauces. The katsu curry was delicious though! Barely any options available for non-alcoholic drinks. The atmosphere was really nice, really liked the decor and lighting.

My Daughter chose this venue to celebrate her 18th birthday The service the food and the venue did not disappoint . Service - Sarah was our main host and she did a fabulous job at educating us about the menu. Sarah was extremely patient and allowed us to take our time to select our drinks and food. - Sarah recognised that it was our first time at the venue and therefore was very caring and compassionate with her approach. We were not rushed, which is a great thing else I would’ve walked out They have an amazing array of saki, Japanese whiskeys and innovative cocktails The restaurant has won many awards and I’m not surprised that they have - they deserve all of them and more Food - all of the food was outstanding. The fish was fresh. I had the salmon TarTaki twice because it was that good. The family ordered a range of dishes from the menu and all of them did not disappoint.. My only comment for improvement would be to put a slimmer layer of rice around some of the sushi. It was very easy to get full on a lot of rice and little filling.. I’m definitely going back when I get the chance . The general manager was also a great host. The restaurant comes highly recommended for birthday celebrations or any occasion because the food service and atmosphere are all outstanding. We have been to many Japanese restaurants including in Japan, and the food here does not disappoint. Very impressed by the sushi selection, with surf & turf nigiri getting a special recommendation. The truffle is an excellent addition to enrich the flavour. Service was great and Mikey was super attentive and friendly. Would definitely visit again.

Sarah was our server and she was amazing!!! Super friendly and welcoming on top of everything, and just made the whole vibe better. Really appreciated her energy and thank you for the great service, Sarah.
