The atmosphere and service was perfect but i had little complains about the food.. the portions were big but i expected more from their flavors.
Divine traditional greek food, at its best! Portions are large size! The service is fast and effective. The prices are ok.
Fantastic restaurant, a must-try in Volos. The food is incredible, fresh and super tasty. What I like the most is that they provide traditional Greek specialties, but also new propositions that are still linked to tradition. The service is attentive, caring and fast. I have been in several places in Volos, but I keep coming back to Staphylos. Well done, guys, keep going!♥️ Back again in 2025.They amazed me again!
On a wet and chilly evening it was good to see that the inside room was empty, tables outside under the awnings were busy. We were directed to a window table but as the windows were open it did mean that we were treated to the smoke from cigarettes outside. We were greeted with a free aperitif. Also water bread, capers and taramasalata. (the latter all charged for) We shared tomato balls to start. Nice enough but four large patties were too big a portion for two. Hubby then had a liver and sweetmeats whilst I had cabbage stuffed in a lemon and yogurt sauce. I found this bland. The free pud was a nice touch. Friendly service but sometimes difficult to get attention. With a litre of wine the bill came to 37.5 euros. Would return to try other options.
The restaurant is somewhat hidden in a side street, but a visit is definitely worthwhile, as the quality of the traditional dishes and the value for money were great. At the end, we were even given some delicious loukoumades as a gift on the house. I also found it very pleasant that although the place was busy, it was off the beaten tourist track and was therefore almost exclusively frequented by locals. A visit to Staphylos is highly recommended.
